Volunteer Day at Red Hook Compost

For the second year in a row, we'll be volunteering at the compost project at the Red Hook Community Farm on April 28th from 10 to 1 in honor of #NationalVolunteerWeek (and also in honor of the passing of David Buckel, RP's first presenter)! This site is the largest compost site in the country run solely on renewable resources (solar, wind, and volunteer labor). More than 2,000 volunteers help in the compost effort each year, converting 150-plus tons of organic matter from waste to rich soil amendment.
